The one thing that we all need to do is be visible in our businesses, on our social media, to let people see us, who are – the driving force behind your brand. Even though its necessary its not always easy to get in front of the lens and show ourselves off – I’m including myself in that as well!
But, it doesn’t have to be awkward or uncomfortable really. Over the years Ive photographed so many women who run their own businesses. Women who have created businesses from nothing, who run them along side their families and throw every spare moment they have at them. Running a business and being in the thick of it sometimes leaves little time to actually be the CEO of your business, get the business housekeeping and websites updated.
So lets go straight to it – why do you need to be on your website? Why does anyone need to see you? In a nutshell – people but from people. We want to know who that person is and if we think we will relate to them and like them. It builds a trust factor for potential clients and show that you have nothing to hide. We like to put a face to a name.
Most women shy away from getting in front of the camera for their business. It goes down on the list of things to do – not need to do. But Im here to say I think you should bump yourself up to the top!
There is a lot of talk around branding shoots and headshot shoots – so what’s the difference?
In a nutshell a headshot shoot is just that, it’s a few touch point images that allow you to connect with your audience that can be used in a number of different way. Branding shoots are more in depth they allow you to share with your audience your business and the way in which in works and the experience it delivers – as well as fabulous headshots.
I run monthly headshot sessions for women in business on the first Tuesday of every month. You share a session spot with 5 women in 3 locations and get to choose 5 images . It’s 1.5 hours long and is fun. It’s aimed for the women who needs regular touch points in a timely manner and in a cost effective way.
