Aretha was on as soul music normally is when I’m pottering/working at home. How many times I’ve sang that line before I’m not sure. ‘Takin time to make time” (Son of a preacher man), but this time I heard it. I was talking with some friends just the week before how when we do have spare time we feel compelled to fill it with something busy. Extra work. New projects. Washing. Cleaning. Exercise. But, do we actually take time to make time, for ourselves. Why shouldn’t that spare 30 mins, 2 hours, 10 minutes  – whatever it is, be spent something doing for ourselves. Better still when was the last time you (and myself) took time to make time for ourselves. Just scheduled out time, like you do when it’s ‘important’ stuff that needs to be done.  We can’t do anything in the right mind if we ain’t feeling right in ourselves. Can  you take time to make time for yourself? I’m going to try.  I love what Jasmine Star wrote about the other week, about even rising earlier if you have to, to make time for yourself. I’m going to try to give myself 30 minutes twice a week to start, when I can do anything I want. Want to join me and see if we feel better for it?
