It was her honesty and beauty that he noticed. I’m sure it was some of her Irish charm as well. She spoke her mind and that was what he liked. They met in Ibiza, she had gone with a friend for the summer. He worked there. They fell in love fast, and they fell hard.
Alex took Shelley for a walk up the mountain side one evening wanting to catch the sunset. The sunset that they had seen before. Half way she asked was it really necessary, this climb was big. He said yes. Continuing they they reached the top, the sun was just setting. And she agreed it had been worth it. The timing was perfect. As Shelley sat there watching the sunset Alex pulled out a ring and with a camera in hand asked her for forever in marriage. Shelley she gave him an honest opinion and said yes!
A few weeks ago I flew to Ireland to document Shelley and Alex’s wedding. It was a small intimate ceremony. But extremely beautiful. Alex is Sicilian, so only a few family members could make the wedding. The ceremony was held at Newtonards Town Hall and the reception was at the boutique Salty Dog hotel on the Marina front in Bangor.
Alex and Shelley, thank you for letting me document your day. It was beautiful.
