Who run the world? Girls! 😉 Especially when they meet up to do a styled shoot!!
At the back end of last year I worked with some crazy talented ladies on a styled bridal shoot. The shoot was based around a certain tone of flowers that Dani from Deluxe Blooms was styling from A Floral. We used the Blossom Barn Wedding venue in Holmfirth as our location, which if you haven’t checked out, you absolutley should. Its a gorgeous little barn (clues in the title;-)), stone walls inside with a courtyard out the back that over looks fields. Hello pretty!
It happened to be a gorgeous day when we shot, but freezing out as well. But, of course we took our hot model outside, all the cakes and the flowers – we’re Yorkshire folk, a bit of cold weather doesn’t slow us down. Lauren handled it like a pro and really was a pleasure to shoot.
So, let me give you a breakdown of the dream team, and before I get there, I have to let you know how extra amazing they were. I had to take Ezra with me to this shoot and to be fair he was pretty good but the ladies took such good care of him for me whilst I shot and it had nothing to do with him being bribed with chocolate early doors 😉 They took the stress out of a mama having to take her babe to work! Thank you ladies.
Venue – Blossom Barn Weddings. A 17th Century barn, in an extremely enviable rural location
in Hepworth, Holmfirth. Nicola who manages the barn is brilliant – super organised and friendly!
Flowers – Dani from Deluxe Blooms. She’s a faux flower guru. Super styler of flowers and instagram story legend. But in all truth Dani is really talented. I love watching what combinations she puts together to keep things fresh and ahed of the curb.
Our model was a beautiful lady called Lauren, who rocked the wedding dress and was such a joy to shoot. She stayed with us all day, kept the energy high and braved the cold like a trooper. She was effortless to shoot and a lot of fun!
The stationery was done by Carolyn from Gray Starling Designs. This lady is TALENTED. Seriously, she matched the stationery to the flowers seamlessly and if you follow her on instagram you’ll so see she’s the queen of flatlays. Her designs are modern, beautiful and a tad whimsical at the same time. Check her out!
Cake. Oh the cakes. I have had the pleasure of shooting the creations of these ladies many times and they DO NOT DISAPPOINT. Where the ribbon ends are two creative sisters, the designs they create are ridiculously talented. It’s art on cakes and the taste is sooo SO good. I may, have sampled one or two of their things 😉
All Things Borrowed were our source for all the table, chairs and candlesticks. They have such a vast selection of items to loan that are really different and individual.
Styling & props/ accessories where brought together by Laura Lindsay from Weddings & Events.
Our assistant planner and stylist was Nommi. Absolute legend would be a more accurate description. Hilarious, creative, and feeds chocolates to babies 😉
The Aisle who allowed us to use one of their ace dresses. Katie owns the independent boutique in Ilkley and is sourcing fresh and modern designers from around the world and bringing them to Yorkshire!
