It would have been easier to stay at home, put my feet up and rest. After all I was full of cold,  it was far away, and I didn’t know anyone. Not one person. But that would have been the easy option, and easy doesn’t bring change. Instead, I threw on some heels and drove to the Brides up North Christmas meetup  in hope of meeting new people. When I walked into the room I immediately wished that I stayed at home, everyone seemed to know everyone, and this was just the entrance hall. I gratefully nursed a mulled wine to keep my hands busy and entered through to the main room. I walked around  and the waves of stupidity lapped over me, who goes out on their own! I walked the floor looking for the imaginary people who I knew, but was struggling to find them. A group of girls who must have seen me on the search for  invisible friends  said hi. A simple friendly hi. I quickly quit the search for the invisible ones and started to talk with who I found out to be Amy, Lissa and Charlotte.  Through rounds of canapés we talked about our businesses, what we did and just a little bit about life in general. Before long, we had swapped details and were sat in a photo-booth sporting christmas themed objects. Me – I had a turkey on my head!

Last night I went out for dinner, and I didn’t have to worry about the invisible ones, because this time I was meeting 3 fabulous ladies. We talked business, about what we do and life in general. I’m happy that I pushed through the easy option of staying home to be able to meet people like this. People who fulfilling their passion and carving out their own path in this industry of ours. I am excited to see where this year takes us all, and of course our next meetup!!

Head over to their sites to check out there work. Happy Wednesday everyone. Don’t take the easy option – take change. xx
