What will you do today to feel the way you want to feel? It’s a question I’ve been asking myself since the beginning of the year. I bought myself a planner at Christmas as a little gift to me, the Danielle La Porte planner which is designed to get you thinking, rather than just reeling off a to do list without any thought about how you actually want to feel from your working day.
And the answer, even though it changes always has a similar theme. I want to basically have my cake and eat it, in the metaphoric sense (even though dessert always sounds like a good idea). I want to run my own business, own a living from doing what I love, carve out time for me to do things I want to do for myself all the while living intentionally.
I realised that in order for me to be in control of my day, I have to take control and mix in some routine. So I’ve started rising at the same time everyday. I wanted to make it 6, but decided that 7 would be fine. Once I have kids I’ll probably dream of a 7am lie in, so i’m indulging now.
