Leeds Family Photography Shoot
What makes you want to book a family photography shoot? We all have phones and we all take pictures everyday – so why hire someone to do it? Well, for me there’s a few reasons.
The main one is easy 1) Quality. Pro pictures are pretty hard to beat. Yep the phones can be good but the beautifulness these lenses can help document is something else.
2) It’s an art. Having someone there to capture you and yours at this stage of life – in a real way that makes you want to put your pictures all over the house is a beautiful thing.Having an eye for human and family connection is worth being apart of!
3) You are in them! How many times are you the one taking the picture and not in it!! Or, you’re in it and its blurry & the composition is just okThis is a huge reason to get someone to do it.
4) Kids act differently with other people. We all know how they are at grandmas and then they see us and start playing up – not always but we know it happens.It’s the same with pictures we (mums) try get there attention for a decent shot and they don’t give us any attention 😉
5) – Life is too short to not document it all 😉 .
I also, know the drawbacks as to why you wouldn’t get one done. Mainly it could be financial. Or, you don’t feel ‘ready’ for your pictures yet – you want to lose the baby weight – change your hair. The weather isn’t right, you want to wait until summer, or until your little ones are at the next milestone. I get it. I’ve been there and got the T- shirt. But, what I also know is that all those things might never change or even arrive. If this year has taught us anything It’s to not put something off for another time. Don’t feel like you have to wait until that perfect setting for it all to work, and if you are saving up to get a shoot, (even if it’s not with me) do it with someone who’s work you love and know that they are investing everything back into your shoot and your family.
There is no compliment I take greater, than when a family re -books. It makes me do a little happy dance and its honestly such a pleasure to be re-invited back into their lives. Quite often I have brides that get married, then have children and quite a few times, start their own business and I get to be there for it all. Or, a family has their first baby and I’m invited back still when the second is there. I don’t think it gets any better than that for me. This lovely family is one I have had the pleasure of knowing numerous times throughout the years and this summer we had a lovely family shoot in the tall grasses of a local field.
You’ll see from their images, or I hope you do, that my Family Photography Shoot’s are fun. Definitely not stand and say cheese. There’s lot of laughs and you’ll see your little ones smiling like they normally do – not awkward. And we slow it down a little as well. Its not all laugh laugh laugh, us mums especially I think want those slower moments – if for nothing else than to be able to stay still for a few minutes 😉
