The perfect type of weddings don’t start based on what the weather is doing, they aren’t dictated by the shades of blue in the sky or how dry it stays. I truly belive the the best days start with simple things, like, you and the person you’re marrying, you’re favourite people in the world, delicious food and great wine – anything in addition to that are just all extras. On Saturday I joined Stuart and Laura with their favourite people, even the ones they so wished could have been physically there were so lovingly thought of and remembered throughout the day. And, I think it says something about a couple when their friends from all over the world hop on a plane and join them too!
Together they created a beautiful experience for their guests and got married at Middleton Lodge. They exchanged their vows stood between family and friends, in front of the sweeping staircase with individual tulips hanging from the balcony, draping the background. Simplicity with a topping of effortless chic and style was the order of the day and it ran through everything. From the ceremony room to the wedding breakfast table, there were fresh greens everywhere, Jane and her team from Weddings & Events are ridiculously good at making everything they touch look incredible!
The weather was as April suggests sometimes and showered for a lot of the day, but it was fine. Guests chatted away in the drawing rooms of the house with fires simmering away next to them. In the later part of the day we had a little rain break so after dinner we went out for a round of portraits and of course we went to the blossom! What other background says spring as much as blossom!
From the morning getting ready, until the evening what I loved the most about Stuart and Laura was how relaxed they were. They completely took the day in their stride and amazingly juggled the gravity of getting married whilst still parenting Ava 😉 their cute little girl. It was a complete pleasure to photograph their day, thank you for allowing me to be a part of it!! Here are just a few to share!
