Let me introduce you to Henry – handsome little Henry! WHAT.A.CUTIE!! Henrys shoot was extra lovely because I had documented his parents wedding the year before, he was the first baby I got to properly document after the lockdown and my first shoot back since having Otto. He made it very easy for me to ease back in 😉 Newborn photography has ever increasingly become my love language. In every shoot I obviously will give you beautiful pictures of your little baby, but more than that, I want to give new parents pictures that  when they see themselves they are happy to see and feel all the amazingness of how they are and the Stella job they are doing.
This little man is unbelievably loved. It was actually one of the things I said to Jim when I came home. The fact that these babies and children I get to document are already winning at life because they are so SO loved and its beautiful to see. You can feel it when you’re there. Parents go through a lot with children, I suppose it’s cliche to talk about now, but losing sleep, dealing with a new persons body that they are still adjusting to – baby and mum. Feeding situations – breast feeding, bottle feeding it’s not all plain sailing. Cries that pull on your heartstrings that we have no idea what they are for. Its tricky waters to navigate but each day parents show up and give it their all again and again. I suppose this will never change even when they get older. So here is to all the mums and dads showing up everyday when all they want to do is get back under the duvet and snooze 😉
Apart from Helen and John having the house looking fab for when I arrived, especially since they had not long moved in, they unconsciously or consciously did a few little things that created great results, which have inspired me to write a new brochure for my newborn shoots, which I’m excited to get finished and share. A quick few are these:
*Baby in grow with arms and legs out
* Â Minimal fuss bedding
* Â Rooms clear of stuff
* Â Baby fed
* Parents outfits complimentary – not match matchy.
There is a TON more information I have coming for my shoots but the above is a little starter.
