What is a first look?
If you’re wondering what a first look is, it’s basically where the Bride and Groom get to see each for the first time before the ceremony. It is usually done out of the sight of the guests and wedding party, and allows the Bride and Groom time to see each other for the first time.Alone.Just them. I think it’s a great idea, and would definitely implement it at my own, here’s why….
I am lucky to document countless couples with their friends and family on their wedding day, and one thing that all couples say at the end of the night when I am leaving, is how fast the day went. For an entire day you and your love are the focus of the party. Everyone one wants to talk to you and rightly so, but that can leave time for just you and your love pretty low. If any at all.
When planning your wedding you will also quickly realise that the timeline of the day can be quite tight, especially around photo time. However, if you decided for a first look, this would give you not only an intimate amazing first reaction of the first time you saw each – other along with precious time to take each other in, but, would also leverage more time for portraits, allowing extra time for time with friends, knowing that at some point on your wedding day you had time. Just you two. Alone.
What do you think of a first look? Did you have one? Would you have one?
Happy Monday! xx
Yes after reading this I would have a first look, what a great idea I’d love my husband to-be to have the first look and that special quiet moment before being swept away with the rest of the day x
