PapaKata Sperry Tent Wedding
When I arrived at Lucy’s family home in Berchetts Green the day before the wedding, it was like stepping into a garden wedding dream! Their beautiful family home was the perfect location for their wedding and an idililic spot for a PapaKata Sperry tent. Sat on top of the tennis courts the huge sperry housed the most beautifully decorated space. Fresh flowers filled the tables, gold safari animals graced the tables. Lanters hung from the roof and the light just bounced through the whole place. The decorations nearly all made by family, were the perfect nod to the blend of Duncan & Lucy’s families heritage of Zimbabwe and England.
The day of the wedding you could feel the excitement buzzing around the house. Last minute jobs being doing, family arriving and Lucy getting ready, stage by stage. Getting ever more beautiful. The weather was unbelievably warm, but there were no complaints.
At the church the men were in quintessential morning suits, looking very dapper indeed.
After their ceremony, and a confetti walk of fresh flowers a London Red Bus had been supplied to ferry the guests back to the house. There, they were greeted with champagne and canopies adorned by plenty of english sunshine. As the guests took their seats for dinner, Duncan, Lucy and I went for a quick walk to get some portraits. Starting at the front of the home we made our way down to the guests in the Sperry, stopping for stunning shots of them both along the way.
Oh and just to add, that amazing cake you’ll see – her mum made that. Along with her flowers!
Now, this is a day that get’s even better as it goes on because these people know how to PARTY!! If you haven’t had the pleasure of a Higgins party I feel for you. They are brilliant. After the evening reception in the Sperry their guests then continued to party with a saxophonist DJ in the barn, where there was a ridiculous amount of fancy dress.
Duncan and Lucy wanted to keep a lot of their day private, which is absolutely fine but they allowed me to share the following. Thank you both and your families for such a brilliant day!! I loved every minutes and here are just a few.
