A couple of weeks ago I put together a small styled shoot. I got a real couple, a pretty dress, fabulous flora, added some sunshine and wind, and ended up with something I loved! The flowers were provided by Ivy Florist, who – I have to say are pretty special at what they do. The bouquet was fresh and chic, and completed the dress perfectly. If anyone is looking for a florist for their wedding (or any occasion) go to the ladies at Ivy Florist (Sofia & Claire) you really wont be disappointed.
I’m not going to lie, the sun was quite harsh and the wind was pretty gusty. But,I wasn’t complaining and if you would have seen the rain that was pouring an hour earlier you would know why. But it was great, because when you place your self right, and select your time to capture, you get beautiful portraits like this. I love me some lens flare.
See what I mean about beautiful flora- these ladies are fabulous!
We kept the location for the shoot basic, a farm road with a field.
Letting go in front of the lens can be difficult. But when you do, it looks great.
I love this next frame. Justine – you are so beautiful.
My aim with the shoot, as is with all my shoots is to keep it natural. I like adding movement and actions, so you don’t feel static. Lifestyle photography isn’t stiff and rigid. To me its natural and real. It’s the sun flaring through the lens, the wind blowing your hair and the real smiles. Not just the perfect ones.
Karl and Justine, thank you for being so fabulous and fun to work with. x x
