Everyone now and again when a little bit of space appears in the diary, I like get with some friends and create. Whether is be ideas or actual shooting I think its fun to be around other like-minded people and have fun. My good friend Charlotte from Soul Images set up a styled shoot at Kirkstall Abbey. A few of us got together and did a bridal shoot. For me, I wanted to play with off centre portraits, very lights images and shallow depth of field. I also wanted to play with the video function.
This year I recently upgraded to a 5D Mark2 and it’s the first time that I have a video function. And I have to admit that I am smitten with it. I am a sucker for shallow depth of field, and with my camera I get to play with this in video form. I am so definitely still learning, but it’s all about having fun right? Experimenting and sharing.
I do have to say thank you to Charlotte for organising in the shoot. In the middle of wedding season and being a mum she still finds time to create.
Below is my video from the day. It is so far from being what I really have in my mind, but I wanted to share it anyway because its fun. And I love seeing video and stills from the same thing.
