This past weekend I had the absolute pleasure of documenting the wedding of Nick and Louise, or Lou Lou has she is better known by. From start to finish the day flowed with immaculate details, prettiness, happiness and lots of love. Louise is a girl with a big heart. She loves her family and friends dearly, and after spending a day with them all I know that this feeling is mutual.
I started the day with team bride over at Louise and Nicks house. The house was as it should be – full of happy! I love being around the girls when they get ready. It’s always so much fun. The music is on, things are being borrowed, laughs are being had- and the bubbly always flows well.
Lou’s house was perfect for the preperation pictures, it was airy and light and every room was such a beautiful space.
I knew that Louie’s day was going to be stylish and expected nothing less when I saw her Jimmy Choo’s and Pronovias dress. Twigs supplied the day with stunning flora.
Lou’s friend Sanya did her make-up for her and did an amazing job. It was perfect all day, as was her hair by Lauren Woodham.
Whilst I was with the girls my second shooter Helen joined the men at the pub, who where having a few pre wedding pints.
I always imagine how exciting it must be. To actually put on your gown for your day, after having it for so long. When Louise stepped into hers she looked beautiful. Truly beautiful.
I think it’s safe to say that’s one proud papa!
Nick and Louise both grew up in the village so it was quite special that they should get married at the village church as well. It was made even nicer by the fact that one of Louise’s best friends father married them both.
All the guests were bussed back to the reception on a vintage bus, where they handed out beers and bubbly for the journey.
With the venue having the York Minster on it’s doorstep, it was a must that we got some shots with it in view.
One off my very favourite things about the wedding breakfast was the long table. I loved it. It was setup simply, but with elegance. What can be nicer than looking up and down your table at your wedding and seeing all the faces you love. This was such a great choice!
Speeches was fab. We had a few tears, some stories and plenty of laughs!
After dinner we had another quick round of portraits. We took advantage of there being no rain, but none of us needed much persuasion with the gardens being this pretty.
Nick and Louise, thank you!!! Thank you for a brilliant day from start to finish. It was effortlessly chic and was packed with love and plenty of laughter. I hope you are having an amazing time in Italy.
Graze Mille!
