Underberg Wedding, South Africa.
This wedding in particular is especially sweet for me. It was my brothers. I travelled to South Africa, to the foothills of the Draksensberg mountains, in Underberg to be part of their blessing, which was done by my dad. The whole wedding was made up of goodness from both families. Sam’s sister Jo and aunt Felicity styled the day working for hours behind the scenes, which was held on her cousins (Terri) beautiful dairy farm. The flowers were freshly picked from neighbouring farms and her bouquet was created by Terri’s mother in law. The food was cooked by her aunt Jennifer and thanks to her Dad Bruce, wine and champagne flowed freely! Every element was made up of absolute goodness with truly fabulous people.
David and Sam’s wedding reminded me of what these days are ultimately about. It’s not the dress, the shoes or the flowers – although they do make it all the prettier. But it’s about two people committing to each other. And having that commitment and unity witnessed by the people who you love, cheering you on from the sidelines, hoping for nothing but happiness and the best. It’s about love. That strong, amazingly beautiful flow of love.
Here are just a very small few from the day.
