I used to worry that I didn’t have a brand. That my logo wasn’t what it needed to be, that I didn’t have my website up to scratch. But in the last few years I’ve realised that all that is just extra, it’s actually me, I am my brand. The connection that I create with my clients is the thing that allows me to use my talent and sharpen my skills. It’s creating an atmosphere where they trust me to shoot in the way that feels right for me. This is now what I base my whole business around.
Creating a connection with your couples starts before your clients even get in contact. It’s on the blog’s you post, the social media you share and the way you are in everyday life. Layers of connections in tiny, normal, everyday situations. You clients connect with you the way that you connect with other people. The way you resonate with certain companies, people, businesses. The way you like or dislike a style, theme or design instantly. The way you like to read a certain genre, author or type of book. The magazines you buy. Clothes you wear. Restaurants you visit. Food you cook. There are SO many connecters that help build those relationships before they eve start to get fully cemented.
When I first started blogging, I would blog about everything and anything. It was my little corner of the internet and I loved it. There were no rules, I was just writing for me, to document my journey, my hobbies, my everyday. And from that time I built up a little network of people who started to share my work and invest in my work. I still stay in touch with my clients from 10 years ago – and some of their family members.
When you connect with people in an honest way, a way where you actually want to build a relationship with people, they’ll stand the test of time and become a foundation for you.
